Oh Germany. I’ve always had a soft spot for the place, having spent 6 months on exchange in my last year of uni in Dusseldorf. I love the quaint old towns, delicious German beer, the hearty food and the efficiency of how everything runs.
Although I’ve been back to Germany a couple of times since exchange, it’s never been over the Christmas period for all the Christmas market fun, and neverAshleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07875842622986658756noreply@blogger.com23tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991302538655515393.post-77608752913872973962018-12-30T10:32:00.000+11:002018-12-30T10:32:08.641+11:00Eating, drinking and exploring in Perth

Perth had always been overlooked as a travel destination for Brad and in the past. Let’s be honest, the allure of Singapore or Thailand, for around the same airfare, with food that’s going to be so delicious and way cheaper...it’s hard to pass up going overseas.
However, I’m not sure what kind of travellers you are, but Brad and I basically do the following things when we travel:

The night before I went to Hellenic Hotel, I drank too much, and stayed out far too late. There were plenty of regrets the next day. I was so terribly hungover, that I was almost worried I wouldn’t survive the drive out to Williamstown, despite drinking about four litres of water throughout the day and Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07875842622986658756noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991302538655515393.post-12894347693117835622018-09-29T06:00:00.000+10:002018-09-29T06:00:04.676+10:00A little Melbourne recap

Hey guys.
It’s been a while. Again. I often ask Brad where I used to have the time to update the blog...3 times a week!

Date nights.
They’re important for relationships, but Brad and I don’t have them all that often - as these days, especially at the moment, I can be out at events from Monday until Thursday, so by the time Friday night comes around I’m ready to curl up in a foetal position on the couch in my pajamas with a tub of ice-cream.

Some friends come and go, and some friends…you don’t know how the hell you bonded, but you have and you know it’s for life.
Wince, Adrian, Chris and I, first bonded through food blogging, with our own blogs, and meeting through foodie events.
I’m honestly not quite sure how it escalated from that, to watching trashy reality tv together on a regular basis, to doing a weekend Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07875842622986658756noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991302538655515393.post-4656731987925667732017-10-18T06:00:00.000+11:002017-10-18T06:00:10.573+11:00Grub Food Van
You know what I’m loving in Melbourne?
The rise of dog friendly cafes, stores…everything! Especially cafes though. There’s really not a better way to start to the weekend, then a bit of sunny weather, rocking up to a cafe, and squealing like an idiot over all the fur babies.
Grub Food Van is such on cafe/restaurant/eatery - that has been around for a little while now, that is dog Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07875842622986658756noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991302538655515393.post-11214831457176655032017-09-30T06:00:00.000+10:002017-09-30T06:00:00.227+10:00Kisume
Brad turned 30 this year.
Sure, we all know age is just a number, but since we’ve been dating for more than 7 years, it’s amazing to think how different we are as 30 year old people (or almost 30 in my case) versus when we were 21.
Brad had a much lower tolerance for stupidity, I was petrified of answering the phone. There are some Sundays I wake up and sigh a bit, thinking about the upcoming working week and already lamenting that the weekend is ending.
But all you can do, is pop onto Instagram, see that Nat’s discovered a new cafe in Camberwell with an amazing looking menu and get excited that you’re gonna head over right there and then...or at least once you've put some pants on.

How do you define breakfast? Or brunch for that matter?
To keep it at it’s simplest, it’s the meal we eat in the morning - so what is that?
Being in Melbourne, we are so blessed to have so many options available to us. Standard eggs and toast, if that’s all you want, pho if you feel like going Asian, and the ever growing cafe scene continues to push what we can eat at the Ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07875842622986658756noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6991302538655515393.post-72842881468310844252017-07-16T06:00:00.000+10:002017-07-16T06:00:16.162+10:00Fifteen Pounds
Anyone else been looking at property recently? Although Brad and I haven’t been completely immersed in it, we’ve been relatively active since the start of the year on the real estate websites checking out what’s around and educating ourselves on pricing.
Regardless if you or you haven’t, I’m sure we can all agree…property prices are kind of ridiculous. Brad and I went to Dexter towards the end of last year, but since our visit, I longingly look at the Google location for Dexter starred on my Google Maps on my phone every time I open it. Where on earth has 2017 disappeared to? I’m not sure what’s happened. Although I did post in February, saying it was my intent to get back into writing on the blog, I just feel like I’ve been consumed by life! Although I love the bustle and energy of a cafe (paired with at least a 15 minute wait no doubt), there’s something special about breakfast places that are soothing, restorative and quiet - and they’re usually not cafes. Or at last not in the typical Melbournian way.

Hey guys, sorry it’s been so long between posts, but after 7 years of doing this I think I just ran out of steam at the end of last year. Work was taking over, the time and love I had to dedicate to editing and writing was disappearing, and honestly, I’m sometimes a bit jaded with the direction food blogging has taken.
